Lake Forest Park K9 PROGRAM
Officer Coleman and K9 Bella
In 2024, the Lake Forest Park Police Department was looking to reactivate their K9 program. The department did not have the money in the budget for the program. Chief Harden requested the assistants of the North Sound Police Foundation. With the help of the North Sound Police Foundation and a generous donor, the foundation was able to pay for not only the K9 and all over her training, but also all the travel cost for the officer to complete the training in Tarheel Canine out of Sanford, South Carolina, and even a brand-new Ford 150 K9 truck.

Officer Coleman was selected as the K9 officer. He has proudly served with the Lake Forest Park Polce Department for 11 years, bringing dedication, experience, a calm presence, and a huge smile on his face to every assignment. For 3.5 of those years, he served on the North Sound Metro Swat Team, where he honed advanced tactical skills and a strong commitment to teamwork and public safety. Over the past 1.5 years, Officer Coleman has continued his service as a K9 handler alongside his partner, Police K9 “Bella”.
K9 “Bella” is a 2.5-year-old Belgium Malinois imported from Germany, known for her high drive, intelligence, and exceptional work ethic.
